I am a Software Engineer at Stakefair.
- What prompted you to take on this particular role?
That’s because I get to build interesting features.
- How long have you been working in your job role?
11 months
- How did you get your tech role?
To be honest, I was at the right place at the right time, and I didn’t doubt myself.
- How does your typical workday in your life play out?
Wake up, freshen up, sit at the workstation, read emails, get something to eat, then work.
In the evening, a bit of exercise or gaming on the console.
- What’s that one thing you wished could be taken off your role’s functions? Better put, a major thorn in your flesh…😅
I can’t seem to think of any at the moment.🤔
- What do you think would make you perform better at what you do? (You never can tell who’s reading this presently)
Any challenge that would make me surpass my limits and current skills.
- What platform do you enjoy using in the course of working and what fascinates you about it?
Spring boot and solidity. Mainly because of the compiling speed, and using them to write smart contracts.
- Who do you look up to as a role model in your role and why?
That would be Akinyemi Akindele, CEO of Stakefair.
This is because I’ve never seen anyone that excited and enthusiastic about solving problems like him.
He’s my role model because he inspires me, not just by words, but action too.
- Trying not to sound like that pesky HR… Tell me, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself being a Senior Engineer, probably with a Startup of mine.
- Techies are stereotyped as nonchalant; some even claim to work around the clock and have little time for socializing… How true🤷♂️?
Not true, personally I don’t work around the clock. It all boils down to time management.
I play football every Friday evening and Sunday morning. I also spend time playing FIFA and call of duty.
There’s also the occasional night out to flex.
- What do you have to tell More Techies?
The grind doesn’t stop.
- What golden secret can you tell someone trying to get into a similar role as yours to help them succeed?
You don’t have to master the skill to get the job. Just learn to be confident.
- Do you have any milestone you think wouldn’t have been achieved?…but, alas! You smashed it!💪🏽🚀🤝

I have gotten to meet a lot of experienced people in a lot of areas asides from tech, which in turn has taught me a lot about the importance of networking.
